Hung Tunglu £» Huang Chihyang Art Exhibition

Hung and Huang, Taiwanese contemporary artists now living in Beijing, are now the stars of contemporary art. Their works have constantly amazed people in terms of their creativity and media, as well as good deals in contemporary art auctions.

The sculpture ¡§Possessing Numerous Peaks¡¨ of Huang is making its debut in this Hung Tunglu £» Huang Chihyang Art Exhibition. ¡§Possessing Numerous Peaks¡¨ consists of nine pieces of mountain-shaped stone carving, on which the artist one by one chiseled regular lines in a simple and plain manner, arranged into a modern garden landscape. It does not only provide a space for its viewers to relax and rest, but also carries the message that the effects of social development to the ecology. In this exhibition, the ¡§Svara¡¨ series of Hung which attracted the attention of artist at home and abroad is also exhibited; we are nowadays surrounded by popular cultures blotting out the sky and covering up the earth and these manmade audio and visual experiences affected the way we ¡§see¡¨, the media and materials used in the ¡§Svara¡¨ produce magical images, in the hope of invoking reflection upon the ¡§illusionary culture¡¨ of the city among viewers.

With ¡§Human and Nature¡¨ and ¡§City Culture¡¨ as their respective themes, the two artists blended original creativity with their exquisite craftsmanship in order to lead viewers wander between art and nature, as well as to explore unlimited thoughts on phenomena in the city.
To coincide with the exhibition, Times Square will be organizing 15 sessions of exhibition guided tours and 5 visual art workshops complimentary for public. In addition, Times Square will invite Mr. Huang Chihyang to give talk to audience on 27 May at 3pm to share with us his art and life. All the above programs are open to public for free.
