Wucius WONG
王無邪works in Hong Kong (b. 1936, Guangdong)
Born in Guangdong Province, China in 1936. Wong studied art and design in the United States from 1961 to 1965. He previously worked as assistant curator at the City Museum and Art Gallery and as principal lecturer at the School of Design of the Hong Kong Polytechnic. He received the honour of Emeritus Fellowship for distinctive achievement in the visual arts from the Arts Development Council in 1998. Wong’s works are widely exhibited in Hong Kong and abroad and are included in the collections of the Hong Kong Museum of Art, Shanghai Art Museum, the British Museum, the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Minnesota Museum, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Arthur M. Sackler Museum of the Harvard University, the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, the Museum für Asiatische Kunst in Berlin and the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne. He is the author of many books on art and design. He is now serving as honorary adviser to the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Government, member of the Museum Advisory Group of the Consultative Committee on the Core Arts and Cultural Facilities of the West Kowloon Cultural District, member of the Art School Committee of the Hong Kong Arts Centre and adjunct professor of the Department of Fine Arts, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
